Wine tasting expeditions – Penner-Ash

The drive to Penner-Ash Wine Cellars feels like you’re driving straight into the clouds. I went up a long, winding road through the mist that took me away from the “real” world for a while. Penner-Ash isn’t a place I would have stumbled upon by mistake, it is a destination spot. In order to arrive at their tasting room, you need to either know that you want to get there, or be unusually adventurous.

Penner-Ash poured a great 2012 Viognier since their 2011 was sold out, so get your bottle soon! As far as I could tell, it was a hit all around.

Their tasting room has great outdoor seating for warm days, and indoor seating with a fireplace for colder days. They are all set for Oregon’s bipolar weather. You can visit them from Wednesday thru Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mon/Tues by appointment), at 15771 NE Ribbon Ridge Rd, Newberg, OR 97132.
