Here is an interesting article by Share to Gain from Robert Cialdini’s website, Influence at Work, that outlines how to use Cialdini’s persuasion techniques in social media.

Here is another article called The Surprising Science of Influence and Persuasion that outlines Cialdini’s techniques from Consumer Sciences Today. Essentially; reciprocate, be likeable, offer something hard-to-get, speak with authority (and knowledge), be consistent and have proof.
