Lessons on the job – bordeaux

I got a little briefing about Bordeaux wines today! There are “left-bank” wines (more cabernet sauvignon) and “right-bank” wines (more merlot). Our Bordeaux style blend (Tradition) is more of a right-bank wine, since it is predominantly merlot. Claret is a British term to describe any Bordeaux blend.

Our Bordeaux style wines include; cabernet franc (love the aromatics of this wine), merlot (so compelling, goes wonderfully with sharp white cheddar), cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc.

Our Bordeaux style wines are in the middle, Rhone style wines on the right, pinot noirs and chardonnay (red and white Burgundy) to the left
