Wine tasting expeditions – K&M

K&M winery is one of my favorite neighbors in Carlton. Their 2009 Alchemy Reserve Pinot Noir is probably the best 2009 I’ve tried so far, which is impressive coming from a vintage I had already decided was inferior to its surrounding years-cognitive dissonance ain’t got nothing on that wine. (Essentially, people don’t usually like changing their minds once they’ve made an initial impression).

Their tasting room is right in downtown Carlton and has a great space for artists to showcase their work as well. The tasting room is open, well-lit, has a nice place to sit and drink wine–and their Pinot Noir is great.

Their tasting room is open Friday – Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. (subject to change depending on season) and they are located at 143 E Main Street, Carlton, OR 97111.
