Wine tasting expeditions – Youngberg Hill

Youngberg Hill is gorgeous. They are not only a winery, but an eight-bedroom bed & breakfast!

We tried three wines when we were there; a 2012 Pinot Blanc, a 2009 Natasha Pinot Noir (sedimentary soil) and a 2009 Jordan Pinot Noir (volcanic soil). The back-to-back comparison of 2009s was incredibly valuable. I liked the Jordan Pinot Noir better, with it’s floral notes and structured body. The Natasha was a little bolder, somewhat more invasive on the palate and a bit more fruit forward.

Their tasting room is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located on site at 10660 SW Youngberg Hill Road McMinnville, OR 97128
