Wine tasting expeditions – Four Graces

When I asked the young woman at Argyle what other places I should visit, she thought for a moment before saying, in passing, “I’m assuming you went to Four Graces…” Well, I hadn’t, but now I have.

The Four Graces is one of the many wineries that give you the experience. Their tasting room is on the outskirts of Dundee, with seating out in the vineyard that allows for a great view on a sunny day. My favorite was their 2012 Pinot gris, which was slightly sweet and very fresh. After that we tried the Pinot blanc, which tasted fine but smelled odd. Also notable was their BlackList Pinot noir, only available in their tasting room, and enjoyable though a little hot (it’s a 2009). Their Willamette Valley was pretty good as well, with a lot of earth and minerality.

They are open daily from 10 to 5 p.m. at 9605 NE Fox Farm Road, Dundee, OR 97115.
