One of the places worth eating at in the Willamette Valley is Golden Valley Brewery in McMinnville. They are on the outskirts of Third St. (McMinnville’s downtown), past the railroad tracks but worth the extra time it’ll take to get out there.
GVB is one of my favorite places to eat because of their “small plate” selection and prices (not that small). The cheese plate goes perfectly with wine, their pulled pork tacos are delicious and potentially nutritious, the baked mac and cheese is gooey goodness and you have a great selection for a good price.
They also have some amazing specials. The last time I was there I had a raspberry lemonade sorbet that was perfect on a hot summer day. Their standard menu has a variety of great prices and a large selection and their drink menu makes it hard to choose; they carry Strongbow and brew their own beer in addition to creative mixed drinks and a great wine list.
Finally, if you go and are craving a salad, their happy hour salad is extremely affordable and their house made balsamic vinaigrette makes eating veggies fun.
FInd them at 980 NE 4th St. McMinnville, OR (they also have a branch in Beaverton). I believe their happy hour lasts from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and just started late happy hour from 8 p.m. to closing. Their small plates are always available.
