Wine tasting expeditions – Domaine Drouhin

Domaine Drouhin Oregon makes an amazing Chardonnay.

When we arrived at Domaine Drouhin, the first thing I noticed was their tasting room. Their building is open and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating and some nice wine to enjoy with friends. The stand-out was their 2011 Chardonnay Arthur, which had great fruit and delicious floral notes. Their 2011 Dundee Hills Pinot noir needs a little more cellar time but was also a good Pinot. Finally, their 2009 Pinot Noir Laurène Cuvée had a refreshing nose, good finish and was a nice rendition of the 2009 vintage. It was a hot vintage, and you can feel that it’s a “hot” wine at the back of your throat and with all the fruit drivers in the wine.

Visit them any day between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6750 Breyman Orchards Rd. Dayton, OR 97114
