Dimsum, the ultimate Chinese comfort food, has landed in Banawe! Tian Pao Wan is new to the Philippines (started around September of 2013) and has a great selection of Hong Kong/Taiwanese fusion food.
My favorites of the night were their siomai and xiao long bao is a type of dimsum that has soup cooked into the wrapper, which is released as you bite into it. Make sure it isn’t too hot before you dig in!
We ordered a soup that had a bit too much ginger for my taste (I am a wuss when it comes to any kind of spice except wasabe for some reason), but everything else was great. If you grew up in a Chinese family from the Philippines, many of these dishes will be straight out of your childhood, probably alternating between Manila and Hong Kong.
They are good prices for a lot of food. If you plan to dine family-style (as you should), then expect to spend 300 to 500 pesos per person and leave stuffed like a siopao.
